I remember back when I first played Lands of Lore with my mom. We spent what felt like months on it. Perhaps it really way months of game-time, exploring the entire Realm and beyond in a pixel-jumble that looked very awesome for those days. And it had voices! Real voices!
I remember when we first left Gladstone. 'Mom, what's a Rascal?' I asked atfer some pondering. 'It's a mean way saying it's a silly person.' Games educate. And thus I loved 'that Rascal' Timmothy, and was pretty much as heartbroken when he left the party. Much later I'd find him dying. And his last words: 'I'm sorry... This Arrow ... It's rather annoying...'
I remember the entire game. It's one of the few games I've played over and over and over, one of the few games I know nearly inside-out. It's twists and scenes are touching. The sealing of the King. The betrayal of the Smith. The suspicion against the Councellor. Dawn. The Mines, and the huge slug-thing that needed to be slain in a specific way...
I could probably write down the entire story... I love the Lands of Lore game. And seriously: It's epic!
